UC Psychology Teaching & Learning Conference

This week was the UC Psychology Teaching & Learning conference, hosted by faculty at UC San Diego, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis and UCLA. From the conference webpage, “[The conference] is designed for psychology instructors at all levels who are interested in developing teaching strategies and learning about pedagogy research.”

This was an informative event and gave attendees numerous tools on how to improve the classroom experience (especially in a virtual setting). Listed below are some of the helpful things I learned over the course of these two days:

In their first games of the winter quarter, Oregon club hockey took on the UCLA Bruins in what would prove to be two intensely physical games. Oregon came away with both wins (4-3, 5-3) and effectively broke their five-game losing streak from games prior to winter break.

Oregon hockey excited for second half of season, will face UCLA

The first half of the Oregon club hockey season was tough, and the team’s 5-8 record shows it. With a schedule loaded with skilled teams, the Ducks came out of the gate facing some of their toughest opponents. However the Ducks are excited and optimistic heading into the second half of the season.

Oregon women’s tennis: Ducks blanked by No. 2 UCLA Bruins, head home

After a tough loss to No. 12 USC the day before, the Oregon women’s tennis team stayed in Los Angeles for one more day to take on the No. 2 UCLA Bruins. Oregon came away pointless in a 4-0 loss. The match was the last of a nine-day, six-game road trip for the Ducks.

Ducks hockey beats UCLA 5-2, will face ASU for spot in Pac-8 Championship

Three seed Oregon took on six seed UCLA for the first game of the Pac-8 playoffs held in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Ducks emerged victorious with a 5-2 win over the Bruins.

The win over the Bruins means that the Ducks will be facing the No. 15 Arizona State Sun Devils, the top seed in Pool B, tomorrow night for a spot in the Pac-8 Championship, where the Ducks had fallen to Utah the year prior.
