Oregon hockey advances to Pac-8 Finals after win over USC

In the second round of the Pac-8 tournament, No. 3 Oregon (13-10, 6-4 Pac-8) faced off against No. 2 USC (13-9-1, 10-5 Pac-8) for a spot in tomorrow’s Pac-8 finals. Even though USC had the higher seed, Oregon got the win and eliminated the Trojans, 4-1. While it was only USC’s first game of the tournament, it was Oregon’s second. The previous night, the Ducks eliminated Cal after a 6-1 victory.

Oregon women’s tennis: Ducks blanked by No. 2 UCLA Bruins, head home

After a tough loss to No. 12 USC the day before, the Oregon women’s tennis team stayed in Los Angeles for one more day to take on the No. 2 UCLA Bruins. Oregon came away pointless in a 4-0 loss. The match was the last of a nine-day, six-game road trip for the Ducks.

The road woes continue for Oregon women’s tennis as the team leaves Las Vegas with another loss under their belts. The Ducks took on the University of Nevada Las Vegas and fell 4-1. The Lady Rebels were 7-3 when playing at home in the Fertitta Tennis Complex, but split their season record 7-7. The Ducks are 7-8 on the season and 1-3 in the Pac-12.

Only singles were played at today’s meet.

Oregon hockey narrowly wins against USC but not without casualties

It once again came down to the final few minutes in the Ducks’ hard-fought 4-3 victory over USC on Saturday night.

The Oregon hockey team’s momentum seemed to have finally started to turn. Hot off of a much-needed win the previous night, the Ducks looked to rob another two points from the University of Southern California. USC, on the other hand, had only lost by one the night before and looked to get the win they had been in reach of.

The game can be summed up in one word: great. In their first game against USC, Oregon broke their no-scoring streak and broke their losing streak all while in front of the largest (and loudest) home crowd they’ve seen all season.
